Wales Week in London

Wales Week in London

At a reception at Gwydyr House in Whitehall on Monday 3rd December the Rt Hon Alun Cairns MP, Secretary of State for Wales announced a full programme of events to take place across London around the time of St David’s Day; from 23rd February to 9th March 2019. 

As the official charity of Wales Week in London Velindre was delighted to attend and highlight some of our activities: A Question of Sport Special at London Welsh RFC on Tuesday 26 February with teams captained by Joe Marler and Adam Jones; 2 days later the Captains Lunch takes place on Thursday 28 February at Norton Rose Fulbright with Velindre Patron Sam Warburton and an exclusive menu designed by Chef Tom Simmons.

On Monday 4 March we have a Welsh Comedy Shorts Evening taking place at the London Welsh Centre with screenings of Neckface and Rhod Gilbert vs Kilimanjaro. And on Friday 8 March the culmination of Wales Week in London is at Grosvenor Marriott Hotel with the Best of Wales Gala Ball with an array of Welsh starts including James Dean Bradfield and Catrin Finch.

Wales Week in London 2019 promises to be the biggest yet with over 80 events taking place across the UK capital to promote Wales and celebrate St David’s Day. This is the third annual showcase in London promoting Welsh culture, business, sport, tourism, food and drink, and is set to make more noise than ever.
